Annual Picnic
The annual picnic is held in September at Wildlife Prairie State Park near Peoria, IL. It is a gathering of families whose lives have been touched by congenital heart defects and the wonderful doctors and staff at Children's Hospital of Illinois in Peoria. It is a time to renew old friendships, make new acquaintances, and catch up with the doctors and nurses in a completely different environment.
The families can enjoy many activities such as face painting, crafts, and carnival-type games. There are free train rides through the park that day and a wonderful lunch! Afterwords, there is a fantastic concert by our good friend, Cookie Bannon, and then a raffle drawing for numerous prizes.
The raffle is one of the annual fundraisers which helps bring in money for the next year's expenses.
On September 24th, 2006, we held our 20th Anniversary Picnic!
